Aston Villa, Tottenham & Jack Grealish
Will transfer deadline day see Jack Grealish leave Aston Villa to join Tottenham?
Claims that the midfielder will leave Villa Park this summer have been doing the rounds for weeks.
Indeed, many fans put two and two together to get five when Grealish was subbed out of Aston Villa’s match against Hull on Monday night.
Yet, despite the mountains of updates on Grealish and Spurs, no deal has transpired.
Indeed, Aston Villa are mounting their best efforts to retain Grealish this season. As reported in the Times on Thursday:
Tottenham have been interested in signing Grealish, 22, for several weeks but the club waited until Tuesday to make a first formal offer of £25 million. Villa responded by rejecting the bid and refusing to sell the midfielder. What followed was claim and counterclaim.
Jack Grealish’s brother slams the Mirror
On Thursday the Mirror have published an article titled “Jack Grealish still desperate for Deadline Day Spurs move after seeing Champions League dream crushed.”
In it, journalist James Nursey claimed that Grealish is “heartbroken” and “let down” that a move to Tottenham has stalled.
Of course, Grealish has grown up in the Aston Villa youth system. He joined the club in 2001.
But have the Mirror printed lies?
Kevan Grealish, the brother of the Aston Villa star, has taken to social media to rubbish the Mirror’s story.
