Ambrose is definitely returning at SummerSlam, isn’t he?

It’s been almost eight months or so since Dean Ambrose underwent surgery to repair a triceps injury. His initial recovery time was roughly nine months, and it’s long been expected he would be back in late summer, early fall.

SummerSlam just so happens to be taking place on Aug. 19, exactly eight months after his surgery. That event will feature Seth Rollins challenging Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental championship, a title he held until running up against not just Dolph but also his partner, Drew McIntyre. In fact, the entire story here is that Rollins has been outgunned at every turn simply because of, that’s right, that damn numbers game.

Well, this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured Rollins needing to find a partner against Ziggler & McIntyre. WWE went out of its way to have Michael Cole tell the viewing audience at home that it wouldn’t be Ambrose because he is still out injured. That’s a curious thing to do — unless, of course, they simply wanted to remind everyone that it’s about time for him to come back.

Now, there are rumors popping up that he’s actually going to be at SummerSlam at the Barclays Center.

Then there’s this:

“I gotta figure something out. I gotta figure something out because two weeks away is SummerSlam, and I’ve done so much for that Intercontinental championship and you know what? It’s done just as much for me. I’ll be damned if I let Dolph Ziggler walk out of Brooklyn still the Intercontinental champion. So whatever it takes, whatever I’ve got to do, whether it’s me against the world, it doesn’t matter. I’m all heart, I’m no quit, and I’m going to find something, man. I’m going to find a way.”

Ambrose is definitely returning at SummerSlam.

Right?
