It’s been a long time since the NXT Championship changed hands at Full Sail Live. But in a story which has had everything over the last couple years, we might as well have this, too.
Aleister Black and Tommaso Ciampa went to war over the strap on the episode which aired on July 25. Over the course of 20 minutes, it didn’t look like either man would be able to put the other away, either.

But when a cameraperson was in the wrong place at the wrong time, a ref bump followed.

And that was all the opening The Blackheart needed to dig into the champ’s eye and grab the belt for an attack.
That was too much for Ciampa’s former partner and current blood enemy Johnny Gargano to take, though. Gargano raced in to superkick Tommaso and take the belt away before he could use it. But in the process, he inadvertantly blasted Black with the strap.
It’s absolute MAYHEM. Not only has the referee been thrown from the ring, but @JohnnyGargano has interfered in the #WWENXT #Championship Match! pic.twitter.com/wIu1LLFwHo

As a small man in a big helmet once said, Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
