This was Kevin Owens plan ‘B’. After kissing up to and then pleading with Baron Corbin to get the terms of Strowman’s Money in the Bank contract frozen until SummerSlam, Owens just flat out swiped the Monster’s briefcase when he wasn’t looking.
Booked in a match with Jinder Mahal, Owens waited roughly ten seconds into the contest before he came through crowd and tried to run off with Strowman’s briefcase.

Half a lap around the ring into his master plan, Owens punted on his idea and lobbed the briefcase to Singh; who was promptly flattened by The Monster Among Men.
